Tim Hilterman, CFP®
Chief Financial Planning Officer, Smartvestor Pro
Tim Hilterman became a financial advisor to give individuals and families peace in the sometimes difficult and confusing world of finance. He witnessed a financial services industry that was filled with high-pressure sales and confusing products and wanted to offer something different: a relationship-based service that was solely focused on the goals and needs of the client. As Chief Financial Planning Officer, he leads the firm in developing specialized, comprehensive financial plans that put our client’s interests first.
Early in his career, Tim sought the most rigorous education and credentials in the financial services industry so he could offer his clients the best advice. He obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®certification in 2013 and continues to meet the CFP Board’s high standards of professional competency and ethics.
Before joining Whitaker-Myers Wealth Managers as the Chief Financial Planning Officer, Tim served as a financial advisor at Whitcomb & Hess for seven years and at Merrill Lynch for 3 years. He worked at Modern Woodmen of America as a financial representative for 7 years and was a lead engineer at Sprint for 11 years.
Tim graduated from Grove City College in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Tim received his Masters of Business Administration from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2007. In addition to his CFP®certification, he earned the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) designation to empower people to think big, make a positive impact in the world, and feel the joy of using their wealth, talents, and experience to improve the lives of those around them.
Tim lives in Lexington, Ohio, with his wife, Abby, and their seven children. Tim and Abby served as foster parents for 5 years and adopted 3 children. Tim is an active member of Westwood Alliance Church. He’s committed to the community where he lives and serves on the board of Richland Academy of the Arts. He founded and led a half-marathon that ran for 5 years and raised over $80,000 to fund drug prevention efforts in the local community. Tim had the opportunity to donate one of his kidneys to a young girl at his church in 2015 and gladly did so to reflect the love of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
